Gail York, LMHC, LPC, MA
Gail is a seasoned psychotherapist with years of experience working in the field of Mental Health. She enjoys working with all age individuals, couples, and families who are struggling and need support to live their best life possible. Gail provides a safe and empathic treatment environment for her clients using a client centered approach tailored to an individual's needs. She uses a variety of treatment modalities including attachment based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and solution focused therapy. Her work with individuals address a variety of mental health issues including Attention Deficit Disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem and substance abuse.
Gail's passion has always been to connect with people and help them to discover their desires to live a life of abundance in all areas, to instill hope and to impart tools for success and coping strategies to help them to become a healthy and happy person.
Gail received her BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Florida in 1988. She received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
In addition to her previous work in private practice, she is a past President of the Central Florida Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, worked as Guidance Counselor in a private school setting, was a clinician in an inpatient treatment facility and provided group and individual counseling to students at Rollins College.
